Dear Reader, Over a twenty year career working with young people, I've taught students every grade sixth through twelve in the public schools of Indiana and North Carolina and been a tenured professor in the Institute For Writing Studies at St. John's University in New York City. Currently, I'm teaching ENG 9 &12 courses at Greenwood High School in Indiana where I'm also the girls basketball coach. Three of my novels have been published by Cherokee McGhee Press. Love on the Big Screen is about a college freshman basketball player (highly autobiographical) whose understanding of love is derived from 80's romantic comedies. Horseshoe is a Midwestern Gothic themed novel-in-stories set in a fictionalized version of my hometown. My most recent novel, The Coach's Wife, is about relationships and collects stories I heard or experienced as a high school basketball coach in Indiana. Pat Conroy, one of my writing heroes, called the novel "One of the best books about coaching and basketball I've ever read with a love story so complicated and wonderful it will have book clubs talking about it for years."
