À propos de cet audio
Now newly revised and expanded, Anna Todd’s After fanfiction racked up 1 billion reads online and captivated audiences across the globe. Experience the Internet’s most talked-about book for yourself!
There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there’s everything After... Life will never be the same. #Hessa
Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way.
But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.
But he’s also rude - to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does - until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.
He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.
Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?
Unless…could this be love?

To simplify:
What I liked:
-The narrator: she gave a good be it subpar performance in parts and it others a stellar job. While she portrayed the gravity of a scenes words and landing the tone very well. However that could not save this page ripping red flag of a book.
What I did not like:
This book:
- Editing: spelling, grammatical errors and improper punctuation. This being in the physical book I had started reading but had to return it due to some life events. However this seemingly carries over into the audio version. Where it felt as if the narrator was confused with sudden shifts in her voice and tone.
-The writing: Horrendous, like the double think, smooth brained simple speech in an actually amazing book “1984” by George Orwell, the dialogue feels as if it was ripped straight from that idea. Where you must reduce the amount of words but also increase the uses of others to make up for your lack of knowledge. This is furthered by the poor portrayal of the characters being human beings. In a good book, it will make you wish and feel as if the world is a living breathing thing, this however does not. Every breath it takes for you to read/listen through this book is both wasted and cancerous. Every single second expended on this masterfully crafted time debt is just the same level of poison.
The relationship was and is doomed from the start, but the sheer lack of consequences for the cheating, the main characters actions never really leading to her getting her shit rocked because “woe is me I am just a wee little lady, with a sad story” NAH. Lord have mercy on those who like this book because only gods know how they have survived with these views.
The main character T (for terrible) Theresa:
She screams Marry sue but without the common powers. Everything revolves around her and must, things that could have been left alone had to be prodded. “Oh so and so is here, let me not think and be a C U next Tuesday”, by checking their phone, making mole hills out of nothing and then turning those mole hills into mountains. So many of her fights were caused by her own actions but that wasn’t a fair consequence as Low and behold it works out just perfectly for her until she does something again. She is a self insert pushed into a relationship with edgy dark bad boy Harry my wanna be styles.
Granted all of the characters suck and their “great writing” is objectively a bunch of political buzz words, half brained into a soup and called subjective beauty.
I have ALWAYS been skeptical of books that started as fanfics whether that’s from forums or watt pad and this book has not proved my doubts wrongs.
This book has made me realize writing is such a gift when done write and some people should have to take a test so they can get a license before they can use a pen or keyboards. Some people can’t write and should not and that’s ok we all have our strengths and weakness but NO one should be making money of this raccoon trash famine. What makes me more worried then people glorifying this filth is that the author freaked out the guy Hard-on is based off of so much he did not show up to the movie, got a restraining order against her, and set up lawsuits. Like Holy Hot Dog in a hellish hand bag.
Honeslty I am starting to see now that even writing a review is a waste of time, but hopefully this can be a warning to someone else. If someone you know says this is their favourite book leave, or say it was self defence, like crazy can be fun but crazy stupid insane is not worth losing your soul. Don’t read this find another book or go outside, tell your family you love them because this book made me contemplate ending it after I burned watt pad and all the fanfics serves to the ground.

1. She referred to almost every other female character other than herself as a skank, slut or whore. Every girl was "caked in makeup" or wearing incredibly revealing clothing. Way to shame other girls because they arent like you.
2. Calling the kettle black, guess who eventually starts wearing makeup and wearing tighter clothes? The main character, Tessa.
3. The worst part on top of her judging the other girls, *possible spoiler* SHE CHEATS ON HER BF. What kind of decent person does that? Especially one that constantly regards herself as better than everyone else.
4. There is such a double standard. Harden can sleep with every girl on campus but he isn't a slut by her terms? Instead he's experienced and sexy.
5. Tessa is completely unrelatable to most readers. She gets to go to college paid by her mom, she gets hit on by literally every guy in school, gets fought over, she is smart, gets the greatest job and the hottest guy in school? The author made her too perfect and it doesnt help that she puts down every other girl around her and even every other person that isnt like her. I hoped she would grow out of her view of the world, but she never does. She always sees herself as better, I couldn't stand it.
Felt like an erotic novel for teens

This book gave me (a mid-30s woman) flashbacks to all of the worst moments in my late teens/early 20s. It's 16 hours of drunken sobbing in a frat house bathroom after being treated like dogshit by some rich, white, teenage asshole, and then going back for more, ad nauseum, because your beliefs about your own self-worth are non-existent. This entire story is a viscerally traumatic experience.
Harden is an abuser, and the author is gaslighting us into believing that it's romance. My tolerance for garbage alpha male behaviour in romance books is pretty high, but this was something else. I couldn't even enjoy it for the smut. This story was irredeemably bad, and no one should ever consider Harden anything but an example of what not to tolerate from another human being.
Incredibly immature + unhealthy relationship
