The man in dread locks made her a face. “Are you angry about it? Do you feel cheated? Okay, why not do your worst and let me see"?

The woman stepped forward. But the elderly man held her hand. “Please just let him be. Just ignore him and concentrate on why you are here".

“But he jumped the line, sir. He is taking your position".

“And I know all that perfectly well, young woman. But at my age, if there is something that I know, it is that you don’t rush anything in life. Can you learn to apply that in your life"?

She took a deep breath. “Okay. If you say so".

The man in dread locks hissed back at them as he was being attended to by the cashier. “Losers".

The old man continued to hold her hand. “Just ignore him, young woman. Do you hear me"?

She nodded. “Yes, sir".

The man in dread locks soon finished paying and left the supermarket. She shook her head. “I wonder what it is with this generation".

The old man smiled. “There is a reason they are called young, you know? Now is when they have all the time and freedom to misbehave in the world".

“And disrespect older folks like you"?

He shrugged. “Like I said, now is the time".
