Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. It's dark and captivating and a little different than what I've heard in this genre before. I definitely recommend giving it a listen!

This story was amazing my only fault was the narrator’s male voice, it totally sucked, the male voice did not fit the character, he is supposed to be a suave handsome killer but the voice sounded like a lab nerd, it was just terrible. I couldn’t reconcile the picture of the person in my head with that voice….story was great though so I kept listening

The narrator has a horrible voice for voice work was really hard to listen to. the story overall was weird and a little lazy and the ending everything was tied up in a neat little bow. Not the worst book I’ve read.

I was really excited to read this! As it seems to be well loved. Unfortunately for me it missed the mark.

It moved entirely too quickly. There needed to be more way more character & story building to make it not feel as jarring.

This all happens in a matter of 2 days, and I felt whiplash over the fact that it seemed like from one sentence to the next they had suddenly formed some insane understanding bond over entirely nothing. It’s played out like they built something over a matter of months and I was left feeling like I had somehow missed something important that happened that built this bond… but there was nothing other than some sex, and some awkward in-depth conversations that would entirely not happen at that stage of that sort of situation.

Also, near the end I got progressively more annoyed by the female lead. She started to come off as just being whiny, as well as each sentence almost became a contradiction of the previous one… one second she was lusting over him and the next she was furious… all to go back to lusting. I feel like I didn’t get to see her mindset change and reasoning happen, she was just suddenly in love. The main male lead also felt hollow, but again, I feel like that comes from a lack of character building.

Simply… all the things that happened felt rushed.

The narrator did a good job! But, this was a book that needed a male voice to play the male parts. Her choice of voice didn’t fit him at all….. and if you weren’t paying attention enough to notice the switch in pov you could end up being confused because it wasn’t all that different from the female lead voice.

However I read this after coming from a trigger warning stalker romance, so maybe I just felt this wasn’t as intense and as in-depth as what I just came from, but all in all, if you want a little dark spice with an easy read, this would be it!
