The essays he turns in are gay erotica. In each story, the pen-named main character is Liam himself, painfully expressing his desire to be with an older man. What started out as a creative writing project has become a thinly veiled cry for attention, a way of expressing his deepest desires. After reading a few of his essays, I realized they were clumsy love letters he was writing to me.
