every read the book a number of times. I find that I don't connect with many of the narrators for contemporary romances. I feel like these two did a pretty good job and enjoyed listening to this book for the first time. I really enjoy Whitney g, this book especially. Andrew Hamilton is the man. Andrew's backstory is emotional. Alyssa grows, and doesn't let herself become a door mat. They both grow and change together throughout the book, and it's super steamy.

andrew was an ass till the end. a sexy ass till the end. I just loved that he said what he wanted whenever he wanted and didn't care what people said or thought.

I enjoyed this book. It held my attention and was entertaining. It has the right flavour of spice and the character development is good. However, the hero is very jaded making him overly guarded and determined to be emotionally distant to the point that it may annoy readers. The heroine does continue to develop moxie but it takes a while for her to fully discover her voice. As always, I prefer the couple to function as a realized couple earlier in the story so I can experience them in sync. However, it took a while for this to occur. There is some great emotional layering. Yet, at times, it lacks the needed depth to grab a hold of my emotions. Had there been more depth and emotional layering in some parts, I would have been sobbing like a babe. The relational dynamics were jaw dropping at times and I wish I could have felt the full force of those emotional moments. Instead, at times, I was a bit annoyed at witnessing more drama. The narration was great. It upheld the character development and tone of the book. I'm interested in listening to more books from this author.
