I really had high hopes for this book. I love Anne Rice, and I like my romance/smutt books, but this was entirely to much for me. The rapes and humiliation was almost to much to bare. I almost have up halfway through. Just a caution for those who are easily triggered.

As an open minded person, i picked this book based on a review. i certainly have read nothing like it. It had such an arrogant and mean tone from the Prince in the beginning. I felt so terrible for Beauty. I continued reading, hoping it would go differently, but it didn't- I couldn't get past the way she was being treated. I decided not to continue. This one was just not for me.

It's a story of people non-stop crying and being abused (emotional, pychological), endless physical abuse (beatings, and non-con), gasslighting, and becoming messed up and broken humans.

I've read a lot of dark content but this is the first I've found uncomfortable.
