Liked this book better than the first.
Appreciated that it was a stand alone book and also second in a series, the back filling of the first book didn’t feel forced.
If you want a book that pushes boundaries than this series is for you!

Very sexy in parts, but the subject matter is toooouuuugh. Again, wish there was content warning in the description. I think Pam Godwin is a very good writer. Not everyone can pepper their books with words like “miasma” convincingly, but she does. I laughed out loud and openly wept during this book. I’m conflicted because this is a very challenging redemption arc. I’m mad that I have sympathy for the “villain” but that’s just good storytelling.
The narrator for the female protagonist is amazing. Jo Raylan is gifted.
