Our hero, who calls himself Big Al, is an electrical engineer. I know, S.M.R.T.! Thanks to his star-crossed, mated-bond-type connection with Tanis, he can communicate with her telepathically. Cool!

Now, why would a human fall for a carnivorous dinosaur? It’s called LOVE, okay? And I’m guessing the hand-sized tongue and the dinosaur appendage didn’t hurt his chances. Mmhmm. With that kind of size, he’s guaranteed not to miss your happy little nub.

This book wastes no time. The spice kicks off right in Chapter 1! But remember… carnivore. So yes, there’s an arm-eating scene, and it does NOT get glossed over. You’ll read it, re-read it, hear about it again, and just in case you missed it, they will remind you one more time.

After Big Al eats her arm, he becomes obsessed with the taste of her blood. Thankfully they come up with a… creative solution. See? Geniuses! He gets a delicious, harmless treat once a month during shark week. (Fun fact: sharks aren’t dinosaurs, they’re fish! BUT, they are older than dinosaurs!)

And Chapter 2? A complete WTF. But honestly, this whole book, I laughed, I cringed, and I remembered exactly why these feral stories bring me so much joy.
