I’m not normally into sports themed romance novels but I love this one because I relate with the female main character who is also sports clueless.

If you haven’t read a Max Monroe book before google “Max Monroe reading order”. Most of the authors series are connected and all of those books are awesome. You can start with this series with no issues but you will be missing out on the little nods to those other books.

The narration is excellently done.

I read this book many years ago and loved it! But I gotta be honest. The male performer spoiled it for me. His voice wasn’t deep or masculine enough, and the southern twang was annoying AF! The female performer was great, even when doing the male dialogue. I recommend reading this book vs. listening. The male performer takes a lot of the enjoyment away!

first of all I haven't finished the book. i love Max Monroe and I appreciate the attempt at writing a diverse character. however I honestly didn't realize that Cat was bi racial until she described her mom. honestly it suddenly made the Becky not with the good hair comment a little less uncomfortable for me. as a black woman who is married to a white man. I've stopped reading at the point were they enter his parents house in the middle of the night and go to bed. No person of colour would enter a white familys home in Alabama without ensuring that they know that they are there. Also no person of colour goes to meet their white partners parents without asking if they know that they're not white. I just feel like this was obviously written by someone who has never been other and hasn't done the research to understand what Cat should be feeling or thinking in this situation. I am enjoying the book and I'm going to finish it. but the way this has been written is just not realistic for a person of colour.

the story and characters that are familiar from other series is great. I love the cross over in them and the ease of the characters relationships.

I loved that the ML had a southern accent since he was from the South, and didn’t start out as a typical asshole and that the FL wasn’t the often conventional blue-eyed blonde. Although her naivety and insecurity were really annoying at first, she relatively quickly got her nerves under control, and her lack of knowledge about sports and sex were then cute. This was not one of the best sports story I’ve ever heard but both MC’s were so very sweet and made the story enjoyable.

the narrators were awesome....I just didn't love the story. I'm on chapter 11 and bord to death. The whole I like him, I'll avoid him, now I'm disappointed.
