A Meditation Adventure

A great and unique read for the genre. Harris’s skepticism and occasional acerbic humor makes this meditation book different from most. It’s also a narrative, and adventure. Of course, everybody’s experience in approaching and practicing meditation is unique. However, I think most readers will find a connection with Harris’s personal journey, and will profit in their own practice. I really enjoyed it!

The last hour of this audio book are guided meditations.

very helpful and accessible

I listened to this twice in a row and I don't think I'm going to remove it from my phone for a while. I found it very helpful and it inspired me to pick up my meditation practice again. I am already seeing results

Lighthearted and great

Incredible

The most grounded, accessible book on mindfulness I’ve ever read. If you are a busy-brained skeptic wanting to be in your head less and be present more this is the book for you.

Choiceless Awareness

Dan's description of the 10 Day Silent Retreat was priceless. He truly made his experience come alive for me. I wondered what one of those retreats was all about. He made me understand meditation (behind the waterfall) much better. This book is worth listening to, and as well I bought the book to read. Thank you Dan for making this book, for making it available on audible and narrating it yourself~!

Wish I read an overview

Way too long-winded and it took him forever to get to the real info! Fast forward to at least halfway through the book, you'll only miss his stories which are great if you are getting this book to hear about his lifes adventures. I wanted to learn more about his journey with meditation.

This has a little more about the author than I expected. It is sometimes distracting but it also gives a backdrop for the journey.

I wish I had this book when I was born

Between stimulus and response there is a space. This book will help you to not only make that space seem larger, it will help you understand what to fill that space with. Suffer from Anxiety and depression? Do your heart a favor and allow it to rest, if you don’t, it will “sleep” forever.
