À propos de cet audio

From James Patterson, the world’s bestselling author, comes a new Audible Original thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end.

After the killing of a prominent mob lawyer, NYPD homicide detectives Jacob Jackson and Caitlin Grimes start receive chilling, written “rules” for how to commit the perfect murder. "Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind."

Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”

As the cryptic notes keep coming and the body count grows, the detectives must untangle the mystery to protect more innocent lives from being lost—including their own.

This was the first “dramatized” audiobook that I’ve listened to. Thought it was well done and had a good performance by the actors. It was even a pretty good story… right up until the ending. That has got to be the lamest and most disappointing ending ever! I would not have bothered starting it had I known beforehand how it would end.

Was pretty good… until the ending!

a nice and quick little mystery. felt like a TV show with the voice work and sound effects. I did suspect the ending after rule 6 though.

quick

Nice dramatization. Story was great and we always like to see when the bad guys suffer.

Excellent who did it

Ending seemed like the easy way out. Very anticlimactic. The story was actually good if they would have finished it better. Performance & audio was good though

Great Performance, Lazy ending

This was my first dynamic audiobook. I stayed in my car to listen to it, I couldn’t ’put it down’.

Shock ending

Excellent voice actors and sound effects. The story itself is solid enough to keep you entertained throughout. The ending was really good as well, though I would have had no issue with a longer conclusion.

The Good: Great production value the sound effects and voice acting was fantastic and really give the feel of a weekly TV police drama.

The Bad: the story kind of fell flat especially the ending which seemed rush and cut short. It also lacked the "Ah ha" moment where the mystery is revealed.

All in all a nice quick mystery but nothing that will blow you away

A good short little mystery

This Chris Tebbets story - delivered under the James Patterson-produced Audible Originals umbrella - is a well-conceived crime thriller. It has a genuine 'Se7en'-styled psychopath feel and some satisfyingly graphic descriptions of murders.. but also suffers from a breakneck pace, a somewhat silly "sociopathic Russian mobsters" plotline, and an out-of-nowhere ending that doesn’t make much sense

Fortuitously for audiobook aficionados, the full cast performance - featuring acting mainstays Reid Scott & Cobie Smulders - is impressive: well-acted.. albeit with some over-the-top dramatics at times. Audible Studios sound engineers occasionally let foley artists overwhelm the recording during action scenes, but mix in ambient sounds & incidental music admirably.

If you can get this 6/10-star radioplay off of the 'Plus' menu, do so. If they ask for a Credit, better options likely beckon.

[Note: The banter between established Homicide Detectives while they teach interview techniques to a patrolman looking for a promotion into their division is fantastic.. albeit a bit heavy on the sexual innuendo]

Entertaining - If a bit Ludicrous

feel like the ending was rushed, good twist, they just drop the twist in and end the story, felt like they could have made another chapter to fully explain it, or just sum it up better.

A good story. Very good narrators and sound effects. Like being there. I liked listening to this book. A good read.
