Description

Now a hit Netflix film!

The sexy and deeply romantic internationally best-selling novel that inspired the blockbuster movie.

Laura Biel and her boyfriend are on a dream vacation in beautiful Sicily. On the second day of their trip, her 29th birthday, she is kidnapped. Her kidnapper is none other than the head of a powerful Sicilian crime family, the incredibly handsome, young Don Massimo Torricelli, who is determined to possess her at all costs. Massimo has his reasons. During an earlier attempt on his life, a vision appeared before his eyes: a beautiful woman, identical to Laura. After surviving the attack, he vows that he will find the woman in his vision and make her his own. No matter what.

For 365 days, Massimo will keep Laura captive in his palatial estate and attempt to win her heart. If she doesn’t fall in love with him during this time, he will let her go. But if she tries to escape at any point, he will track her down and kill her entire family.

Soon Laura develops a fascination with her handsome and powerful captor. But as a precarious, risky relationship forms between them, forces outside their control threaten to tear them apart....

From 0-10 but full speed.

I watched the Netflix movie before reading the book as it was not in available in English. I have to say the movie was way better than the book and that’s not saying much. It feels as if the book is moving so fast; with very little detail of the characters. He sees her in a dream and then he kidnaps her and then she falls for him in the first TWO hours of the book?? Nah. The only saving grace is the narrators. They did a great job although I thought they were supposed to have accents. I wouldn’t recommend. Just watch the movie. :-/

Would not read again.

First I was excited that Sebastian York would be reading.... But it was a bait and switch he only reads the prologur. So if you are ordering because of the narrator don't.

Second the words used in this book are awful. I'm not sure if it is just poor translation but snatch is not a word I really want to hear any other word would of been better. There were a few other words where I wondered why not use the proper word. But anyways maybe thats just my hang up.

Third this is one book I preferred the movie more then the book. That does not happen ever. So reader beware.

This book has a reverse affect...

I saw the movie on Netflix and love it but this is the first time I can say the movie is much better than this book.
Maya Starling is OK as narrator and Sebastian York disappeared after chapter 1. I just open part 2 or book 2 is much better...this one was not worth the wait!!!

Is it impossible to make a movie like the book?

This book is amazing. The movie is a cliff note compared to this book. I can't believe how much is missing from the movie. If you had questions, if you were confused....like the rest of us, if you watched the movie and was like....WTF????? Don't worry because the book explains everything. The characters actually have substance and the story is detailed, scandalous, thoughtful, sensitive, steamy hot Alpha Male goodness, as in run to turn the volume down before someone hears what's going on. I hope they do a better job with the rest of the series. For those that are confused about Massimo's missing Italian accent while speaking English, he spoke English with a British accent due to his education.

I loved It

I have been wanting to read this book since I saw the movie last summer and I was not disappointed. Don Massimo Torricelli has been looking for Laura Biel for 5 years he first saw her when he was shot. Laura and her boyfriend Martin take a dream vacation to Sicily when he sees her at the airport he knows he must have her. This was a really good read. Massimo who is a mob boss kidnaps her after she gets into with Martin he also threatens her and her family he also shows her pictures of Martin having sex with a girl in a club. I liked Laura she wasn't the soft submissive women that he was use to she agrees to give him the 365 days that he asked for. Massimo is a hot sexy alpha male who is use to getting what he wants. The movie had some hot sexy scenes in it and the book was better too me. When these two begin having sex it was hot as hell. Laura is not use to men deciding things for her she rebels and gets in trouble like poll dancing in the club and the man losing his hand for touching her. I did think that Laura drank too much especially with a heart condition. I liked that Massimo could be tender with her. I also liked the secondary charcters like his brother who looks after Laura and her bestfriend Olga. This was a good read that I listened to and read the narrators were excellent. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series and I hope that the author doesn't make us wait to long for the English version of the next book.

Sebastian is only on chapter 1

I was so intrigue by this book. I watch the movie and wasn't really impressed as I knew there had to be more to the story details that needed to be left out because of time. then I saw my favorite narrator on this book! so I pre order this book so excited to hear it.

I was sadly disappointed to listen to half the book only to find out that Sebastian is only on chapter 1 and the story doesn't have much more then the movie.
the story is half slow burn half speed love, which is not the main problem. Laura is a woman dissolution with her life and her relationship. there are several holes in the story when it come to why she needs to stay with her captor and how easy she surrenders to her new "adventure"

Maya is absolutely awesome in this he work as the heroine was great, I will definitely look for her work more often as this was the first time I heard her work.

Compared to movie; no spoilers

Compared to the movie, alot is the same and alot is different. You definitely get a more in depth look at the characters. Laura is more annoying, Massimo is a little more demanding, and Domenico is just as sweet. There is more violence in the book especially between the sheets but not anything too bad and both are willing. And the ending is totally different than the movie so don't think you know what happens.

Better than the movie

Good read, worth the credit. I'm a huge fan of Sebastian York, and I like the pairing with Maya Sterling. But I'm a little disappointed with the dry American accents in place of the seductive Italian and charming polish accents the story presupposes.

Edge of your seat

Narrators were amazing. They gave life to the story. I enjoyed the read. I can't wait for the next part.
