Lightly lively, nicely narrated. I found myself quietly enjoying the wit of the two main protagonists, one an impoverished widow who has survived ghastly domestic abuse, the other a weary rake and impudent owner of the nearby estate.

Throw in the mystery of who is trying to murder them and why - it becomes a most excellent Regency adventure romance.

If you like novels of Georgette Heyer I strongly Recommend this novel. (Note there is a slight bit more sensuality than Heyer (not much mind you)
