À propos de cet audio
#1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva delivers another stunning thriller in his action-packed tale of high stakes international intrigue.
A brutal murder, a missing masterpiece, a mystery only Gabriel Allon can solve . . .
Art restorer and legendary spy Gabriel Allon has slipped quietly into London to attend a reception at the Courtauld Gallery celebrating the return of a stolen self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh. But when an old friend from the Devon and Cornwall Police seeks his help with a baffling murder investigation, he finds himself pursuing a powerful and dangerous new adversary.
The victim is Charlotte Blake, a celebrated professor of art history from Oxford who spends her weekends in the same seaside village where Gabriel once lived under an assumed identity. Her murder appears to be the work of a diabolical serial killer who has been terrorizing the Cornish countryside. But there are a number of telltale inconsistencies, including a missing mobile phone. And then there is the mysterious three-letter cypher she left behind on a notepad in her study.
Gabriel soon discovers that Professor Blake was searching for a looted Picasso worth more than a $100 million, and he takes up the chase for the painting as only he can—with six Impressionist canvases forged by his own hand and an unlikely team of operatives that includes a world-famous violinist, a beautiful master thief, and a lethal contract killer turned British spy. The result is a stylish and wildly entertaining mystery that moves at lightning speed from the cliffs of Cornwall to the enchanted island of Corsica and, finally, to a breathtaking climax on the very doorstep of 10 Downing Street.
Supremely elegant and suspenseful, A Death in Cornwall is Daniel Silva at his best—a dazzling tale of murder, power, and insatiable greed that will hold readers spellbound until they turn the final page.

London, 1992. Late one night, Edward Crane, 76, is declared dead at a London hospital. An obituary describes him only as a 'resourceful career diplomat'. But Crane was much more than that—and the circumstances surrounding his death are far from what they seem. Fifteen years later, academic Sam Gaddis needs money. When a journalist friend asks for his help researching a possible sixth member of the notorious Trinity spy ring, Gaddis knows that she's onto a story that could turn his fortunes around. But within hours the journalist is dead, apparently from a heart attack.

Histoire13
During intermission at the famed La Fenice opera house in Venice, Italy, a notoriously difficult and widely disliked German conductor is poisoned—and suspects abound. Guido Brunetti, a native Venetian, sets out to unravel the mystery behind the high-profile murder. To do so, he calls on his knowledge of Venice, its culture, and its dirty politics. Along the way, he finds the crime may have roots going back decades—and that revenge, corruption, and even Italian cuisine may play a role.

Silva does it again. Absolutely brilliant.
Un problème est survenu. Veuillez réessayer dans quelques minutes.
Daniel's books always seem relevant to current world events - neve more so than at this time.
I would love to visit Isherwood Fine Arts in Mason's Yard when I am in London, Lizard Point in Cornwall and the churches where Mario Delvecchio restores priceless works of art when I am in Venice. I would love to attend an Anna Rolfe concert. And I think I am in love with Chiara.
Sadly, while I stand by Israel at this time, I do not believe the leaders are beyond reproach. I would not feel comfortable visiting Israel right now due to the tragedy of October 7th and the ongoing tragedy in Gaza.
Another Smash Hit for Daniel Silva

Narration is A1.

Supposedly Cornwall but via Ireland, Scotland, Liverpool and Yorkshire?! I’m rarely irritated enough to make a post but it’s beyond insulting to pretend this is in any way a professional read.
The dialogue is utterly unbelievable for people who are supposed to be Cornwall natives above and beyond the ridiculous attempts at the regional accents of the narrator. And that’s at the door of the author. Having read his bio it’s unclear whether he’s ever spent time in the UK which is either glaringly obvious or, to give him the benefit of the doubt, he may have given it a couple of weeks in London with cotton wool implanted firmly in his ears.
I’ve tried 3 times to get past the first 3 chapters but cannot. What sounded like an interesting premise turned out to be an absolute waste of a credit and my time. AVOID!
