À propos de cet audio

Only his memories can save her…

A great primal power has risen. The Queen of Flesh and Fire has become the Primal of Blood and Bone—the true Primal of Life and Death. And the battle Casteel, Poppy, and their allies have been fighting has only just begun. Gods are awakening across Iliseeum and the mortal realm, readying for the war to come.

But when Poppy falls into stasis, Cas faces the very real possibility that the dire, unexpected consequences of what she is becoming could take her away from him. Cas is given some advice, though—something he plans to cling to as he waits to see her beautiful eyes open once more: Talk to her.

And so, he does. He reminds Poppy how their journey began, revealing things about himself that only Kieran knows in the process. But it’s anybody’s guess what she’ll wake to or exactly how much of the realm and Cas will have changed when she does.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout revisits Poppy and Casteel’s epic love story in the next installment of the Blood and Ash series. But this time, Hawke gets to tell the tale.

Ce que les critiques en disent

“Narrator Tim Campbell returns to the role of Casteel Da'Neer in the fifth book in the Blood and Ash series.… Tim Campbell captures the sarcastic and flirtatious sides of the prince. Campbell's sonorous voice is as easy to fall in love with as the character of Casteel, making Campbell the perfect casting choice.”AudioFile Magazine

“Expertly and vividly performed with the impressive narrative vocal styles of Tim Campbell, this…will have a very special attraction to fans of vampire romance fantasy fiction. Original, self-contained, and a must for the growing legions of Jennifer L. Armentrout fans.”Midwest Book Review

I loved it. I fucking loved it. Hearing Cas’s pov is so cute, I love the whole vibe of the book.

People saying its repetitive probably haven’t read the Flesh & Fire series. Indeed, this book is PERFECT when you read it just after finishing the Flesh & Fire series (which you’re supposed to read AFTER the Blood & Ash one)! This book then helps you remember what happened in the Blood & Ash series, preparing you to read the The Primal of Blood and Bone, which combines both series!
So if you haven’t read the Flesh & Fire series, I urge you to do so before reading this book.
Also it is so fun and exciting to discover Cass’s point of view. And you still learn new stuff!
Can’t wait to read The Primal of Blood and Bone, and seeing Sera, Ash, Poppy and Cass working all together!!

Perfect book… to read after Flesh&Fire!

I liked hearing a different perspective and I love the first book that started this journey. Especially cause I'm still mad at The War of Queens. If you know you know. so this was a nice change. the ending was great too!

Enjoyed memory lane

If you've read the summary or any previous review, you'll know this is a retelling of the first book, From Blood and Ash from Casteel's POV. You get a better sense of how desperate and not really in control Casteel really was prior to meeting Poppy which it turns out he was really good at masking his trauma. I related to that and enjoyed revisiting my favourite book.
There is some but minimal present day storyline progression. But if you skip this book, you will miss info you will need when book 6 comes eventually comes out. Book 5.5 coming out this Feb, 2024 though! :)

Um... ok! So this is basically book 1 "From Blood and Ash", but from Hawke's point of view. I knew that going in, but I really thought that would be just the first bit, then we move on. Boy was I mistaken. In my opinion, it had almost nothing new to add. Like, sure, I didn't mind reading it, just like I wouldn't mind rereading FBAA. And this book... it is more or less just that, a reread of FBAA. Can be a nice little companion book after the series ends, but this? I'm not sure what is the point of publishing this now? Why not just start from where the last book left off? It's ok if you wanted to do a retelling and have him remind her who she is and who they are to each other, but why not do that in a chapter or two... maybe even 3... and then actually MOVE ON?

Is that it?

I agree with a lot of the reviews. I wish it had spent more time on the present or given more insight to the past... even though I knew what it was going in, it's truly not anything new, save for a few chapters, and with what we DON'T already know, it just sort of strung us along without giving us any answers... Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but don't really feel it was worth the money. I would have waited for a library book to borrow if I could do it over. It feels like a bit of a rip off because you're lowkey paying for the same book twice. What was set in the present was good, and I wish we got more of it. A lot could have been done with that imo... in classic JLA form, the cliffhanger at the end just had me dying for more of THAT. But with the release schedule it just feels like it's going to be ages before we get more of Poppy and Cas and Keiran.

Enjoyable but... nothing new...
