À propos de cet audio

Phantom PI Paul Harrison from the national best-selling Haunted Guesthouse mysteries returns with a tale of his own in a house full of ghosts, secrets, and spectacular oceanside views.…

Three years ago in a large Victorian house on the Jersey Shore in the town of Harbor Haven, fledgling private investigator Paul and his client, Maxie Malone, were murdered. Since then, recent divorcée and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby and her 10-year-old daughter, Melissa, have moved in and converted the place to a guesthouse, where Maxie and Paul are now checked in for an eternity and ready to solve any case that comes their way - or at least spook the guests (who love it). Alison’s got a lot on her plate at the moment, however, so when Paul discovers the 300-year-old ghost of a small boy in the house, he decides not to involve her in the case. The boy, named Eagle of the Sun, says he’s searching for his missing mother. Paul’s happy to help Eagle of the Sun find her, though something about the boy’s story doesn’t add up. But why would a lost little ghost lie?

Includes a preview of the next Haunted Guesthouse Mystery, Chance of a Ghost, available February 2013.

The story was ruined for me by the narration. I found the humourless tone took away from the wit and sassiness of the writing. The character voices were just awful. Loretta, in her early 70's, sounded like a quavery, feeble 90-year-old (I'm in my late 70's and feel insulted). The voice for Alison, made her sound like a stern, humourless school teacher (I've been traumatized by enough of them in my childhood), and Maxine's voice!! I wouldn't know where to start with that one. The only redeeming feature, for me, was that the story was short. I loved the previous books, but will skip any narrated by this person in future.

Disappointing

I heard one of the new books to this so I’m happy to hear more. Can’t wait to listen to the rest.

Loved it.

This was a fantastic way to hear from Paul and learn more about him as he would tell it. It gives us a different perspective. I was pleased with the narration as well. Despite the mistake of calling Maxie Maggie, it ony happened once so it was easily forgiven.

Nice Change!

Having been born and raised in Toronto I enjoy the Canadian references. The best though is the spotlight on Asperger's. Having had a 16 year relationship with an Aspie man, I'm so happy to see the condition shown in a positive light. My guy, described as the best rock and roll keysman in Canada, was intelligent, loyal, and an incredibly hard worker. Thank you E. J. Copperman for your writings.

Excellent
