À propos de cet audio
But their little colony has just received an unexpected visitor: an avenging angel with the power to lead mankind to safety - or draw down its darkest enemy. And as she leads them to an apparently insignificant moon light-years away, it begins to dawn on Clavain and his companions that to beat one enemy, it may be necessary to forge an alliance with something much worse.

The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars some 400 light-years in diameter, contains more than 600 worlds, interconnected by a web of transport "tunnels" known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: Over 1,000 light-years away, a star...vanishes. It does not go supernova. It does not collapse into a black hole. It simply disappears.

Leo Graf was just your average highly efficient engineer: mind your own business, fix what's wrong, and move on to the next job. But all that changed on his assignment to the Cay Habitat, where a group of humanoids had been secretly, commercially bioengineered for working in free fall. Could he just stand there and allow the exploitation of hundreds of helpless children merely to enhance the bottom line of a heartless mega-corporation?

Huge fleets of sentient trader starships thrive on the wealth created by the industrialization of entire star systems, and throughout inhabited space the Confederation Navy keeps the peace.

Poursuivre la série
great narration. great story.
Un problème est survenu. Veuillez réessayer dans quelques minutes.
I love Reynolds' writing and the excellent performance by Lee, but I found that the ending was disappointing and unsatisfactory.
In this supposedly final instalment in the series the enigmatic "memories" from Aura lead the troop to Hela for what we believe to be some important conclusion. Things build towards this moment. But it is an anticlimax.
I cry for what happens to the Nostalgia for Infinity, especially after the Captain emerges. Did Aura have no further technological insights? How could so much be deduced and be reliant on some "conch pieces"? Its a bit of a leap. And so on.
The world building in this series is excellent, by the time you finish Absolution Gap you are very well acquainted with Yellowstone and Chasm City, Sky's Edge, Resurgem, Ararat, Hela. You are familiar with several species and sub-species: Ultras, Conjoiners, Pattern Jugglers, Inhibitors, Hyper-Pigs, Skuttlers, Shrouders, Shadows and Amarantin. I would have loved a more satisfying ending that brought more of the pieces together.
Excellent, but no ending
