Description
Could Fitzwilliam Darcy harbor a shocking, sinister secret?
Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet count themselves among the many guests of the Kendall family, whose estate lies amid the picturesque hills, gorges, and rocky slopes of the Peak District in Derbyshire. Elizabeth’s cousin Rose Kendall believes her dashing brother-in-law, Captain James Kendall, is Elizabeth’s ideal match. Rose’s husband, Nicholas, hopes his good friend Darcy - a rich, proud, and taciturn gentleman with a spotless reputation - will fancy one of the other eligible lady guests.
News of a brutal killing at a neighboring estate sends a wave of shock through the genial group of friends and family. When one of the Kendalls’ guests is attacked, all of the gentlemen become suspects, but the former Bow Street runner tasked with investigating the crime finds the evidence against Mr. Darcy particularly compelling.
In this romantic mystery, the beloved couple from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice cross paths with a ruthless killer. When faced with dire warnings against Mr. Darcy, will Elizabeth heed them or follow the dictates of her heart?

A Wonderful Listen
Regency Romance is not my usual read, but after seeing so many wonderful review’s for Kelly Miller’s writing, I had to try Accusing Mr. Darcy.
This was a splendid variation of P & P! Kelly’s writing, lingo, character traits, descriptions of characters and surroundings were excellent. I fell in love almost immediately (of course imagining Mr, Firth as Mr. Darcy was easy and most pleasurable!) Ms. Miller’s obvious research and skill at creating and captivating is amazing. I look forward to more stories in the future.
In the case of the audiobook, the narrator was excellent and a perfect choice!

Enjoyable Listen
I enjoyed the book albeit a little slow at times. I would have preferred a little more mystery but good nonetheless

If you like Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice...
you'll love this book. everything about this book is spot on. The tone, the language, the narration. It has a modern twist in the sense of danger and a touch of suspense. The last sections of the book were slower, but in keeping with the original style of Jane Austen.
Excellent book

Love story and murder mystery in one
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. I like P&P adaptations that reveal Darcy’s thoughts. The speed of the love story was very quick but we’re supposed to believe D & E are having deep insightful conversations during their long walks. I liked the drama of the murder investigation threatening to separate the protagonists instead of family intrigue. I didn’t figure out who the murderer was until the reveal. There were so many guests. Everyone’s couples live happily ever after especially Elizabeth and Darcy. Which is how I like it! Lots of tender moments sprinkled throughout story. Nothing explicit. Narrator did a great job juggling so many characters.

If you like mystery and P&P read this book!
This book was lots of fun. I enjoyed it immensely. The title I think is slightly misleading, but to me it doesn't make a difference. Honestly many are accused in this book. The twist is a great surprise. The one teeny tiny thing I can possibly frown at is that two or three times a paragraph repeats itself. It kinda makes you think you've gone crazy for a moment.
BUT overall it doesn't matter to me because of how much I enjoyed listening to this story. Hence the 5 stars instead of anything lower.

Maybe the best yet!
I have said before that I wasn’t a Pride and Prejudice fan coming into the world of books by Kelly Miller. And maybe I’m still not. Maybe I’m a fan of this version. And while that’s likely a similar thing there’s definitely a distinction. And while this isn’t the same universe per se as Perfect Match, or Death takes a Holiday at Pemberley... Darcy and miss Bennet feel familiar and comfortable across these three books.
This book went above and beyond. Part mystery, part thriller, part romance. And with the killer hidden in plain sight undetectable until Kelly willed for me to know.
Time for review sites to add stars. Maybe 8 will be enough.
I’m not saying much about Stevie’s Narration. Nothing needs be. She’s perfect for this time period and untouchable. If I ever decide to write regency I know who I would want to narrate!

Perfection!
I absolutely adored this book, and Ms Zimmerman does an amazing job bringing the story to life. Ms. Kelly takes the original Pride and Prejudice and made it her own. I loved it even more than the original, of which I am a huge fan! I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good, clean historical romance. Happy listening!

A Wonderful Story
First, a confession - this is the first audiobook I've listened to, and that being the case, it was a wonderful experience.
The story was a wonderful take on the world of Pride & Prejudice. The author, Kelly Miller, did a great job of channeling Jane Austen without mimicking her. In other words, she takes what Austen created and makes it her own while still maintaining that style and narrative voice.
In addition, I think that Stevie Zimmerman was a perfect choice to narrate. She had a lovely English lilt to her voice that fit the story well, and she was able to voice the characters in a subtle and engaging way.
Overall, a great experience and lovely diversion. My wife and I both listened to the novel in the evenings while unwinding from the workday. It was a great way to relax.

Masterful mystery and narration
This story kept me on the edge of my chair. A gentleman serial killer in the world of JAFF was scary and very well written. I enjoyed developing relationship between Darcy and Elizabeth and her trust in him. The investigators were very real and their detective methods fascinating. The final revealing of the culprit was shocking, though he was on my list of suspects and I suspected who the instigator was.
Stevie Zimmerman’s narration was perfect, keeping me in suspense. There were more additional characters than in most JAFF books I’ve read, from the house guests to the investigators. She did an excellent job giving each character a different voice matching their personalities. I didn’t have to guess who was speaking because Stevie made it so easy.
Highly recommended

Perfect for anyone who enjoys regency era historical fiction
When I was around age 8, I started building a collection of books “100 years+ older then I am”, and I made sure to read every one I acquired. As such, I have a special place in my heart for books written in an older style.
In this vein, when I learned of Kellys Pride and Prejudice variations, I knew had to read one. I debated strongly between this and Death takes a Holiday at Pemberley, ultimately selecting Accusing Mr Darcy due to my preference for audiobooks. As a note, I’ll add a content warning to the book for anyone considering adding this to their TBR for scenes and discussions of violence against women and the aftermath from these experiences, as this is an ongoing thread through the novel which is key to the storyline.
What I enjoyed about Accusing Mr Darcy is that it had the air of an older book, yet it was filled with personal touches from the author’s style and thematic elements that will appeal to a modern reader. Throughout the story, Miller expertly brings us through the highs and lows of emotion the characters are feeling as they deal with the challenges of a murder mystery taking place within close proximity to their social circle. Particular emphasis is placed on Elizabeth as she navigates her experiences related to the situation at hand. The narrator Stevie Zimmerman does an excellent job balancing the voices and scenes while not giving away the secret of this whodunnit.
For the many people who adore Jane Austen and the regency period, this is an excellent read. It’s a great choice for fans of historical/ regency era fiction, mystery, and clean romance with HEA endings.

Great story
This book is about Elizabeth away from Longbourn. She is staying with an aunt and uncle that is new to me. There are no siblings either. She goes visiting a friend in Derbyshire. She meets mr Darcy for the second time. There is some angst. Great story and a HEA for ODC even if it ventures off the canon story line.

Intriguing mystery
ODC fell in love rather quickly after a clear up of a misunderstanding. A serial killer attacked Lizzy but Lizzy lost her memory of the attack. A unexpected reveal of the murderer. Glad to see all the couples got together at the end.
