Description

God is dead. Killer at large.

In a world filled with powerful witches and wizards, Professor Marcus Orren is about as magical as your average brick, leading to a life of rampant cynicism, coupled with mild-to-moderate alcohol abuse.

While his contemporaries are content in their sorcerous ways, Marcus dares to ask the important questions in life, such as: “How can a pyromancer summon fire without fuel and a spark?” or, “What, exactly, is so special about a simple chalk circle that people assume it will ever turn iron into gold?”

His latest theory, an academic rebuttal of a God named Tomas, stands so air-tight that the Universe itself is forced to agree, promptly erasing the actual Tomas straight from existence. Unfortunately for Marcus, there are hundreds of Gods roaming the heavens above, and nearly all are the type to hold a grudge.

The gods are real! … but not in my world

I love the whole idea of this book, it blew me away with the authors ideas behind why gods don’t exist. While it feels like the story goes off track you later realize that it was moving In a straight path the whole time.

The characters are great and I love how the goddess of death is portrayed in the pantheon for being not better then the other gods but always still being a threat. The rest of the group are just a bunch of misfits who have no place being associated with the gods, that makes it all the more amazing that they have to deal with this situation.

The only thing I didn’t really like about this story is there was no real goal in the book so there was no real satisfaction when wrapping it up. they kind of make a goal halfway through. The book is a battle of survival through espionage and hiding.

If I have to say anything about this book it would be that it is a great book and even while listening to other books I find myself thinking about this story over and over again so
Top 10 for my most recommended to own.
