Despite that i really liked it. I'm pretty invested in the story and want to see what happens even if I'm obviously not the typical age and gender demographic for who this book is written for. I sort of wish the whole series was offered as a bundle since these are pretty short, and i wasted my credit for the rest of the month for a five hour book...

I first read Alanna the FIrst Adventure at 12 years old, so a year older than Alanna is in the first book. This book inspired me and helped shape the woman I have become. I adore Tamora Pierce, and love how she tells stories.

A young Girls Hero

I loved this story as a young teen/preteen and have read the paperbacks over and over until the spines were failing. The audio version brings a classic favorite to life. Trini Alvarado does an amazing job voicing the characters. Now I'm listening to them with my kids and watching my daughter fall in love with my favorite stories and characters.
