Two hopeful survivors of the apocalypse, Mac and his young friend Wilkes, are on the run from a brutal regime of slavers, and the bright spot in their lives is reading the lost journals of Michael Talbot, living vicariously through his sensational, hair-raising exploits.

In this journal, Talbot and his squad are tasked with another dubious rescue mission, one more difficult than they've ever faced and with far more at stake than just their own lives. Though the primary objective has failed, they are met with an unexpected mission, granting them access to a higher purpose and a burning hope that still exists.

But the strife never ends, and one day it will all be too much for Captain Talbot, and the cracks are starting to show. How much battle, how much loss, can one man take and maintain what's left of his already damaged sanity?

Mark Tufo is honestly one of the best writers I’ve ever listened to/ read. Every book is so immersive and detailed. Hope we writes to book 100+ in this series!

I have listened to the whole series so far and it's fantastic you almost feel like you're part of the Talbot family or team I don't know how you do it. And Sean Runnette is a fantastic narrator great work.

OMG. Mark Tufo you have done it again! The story that Mike tells about the gentleman who went into the cave was AWESOME!

the book was awesome it made me laugh and it's so nice to see another active part of the book going to another area but I'll tell you it was hilarious and they were scary 😂 parts

More twists and turns than a broke back snake! With the usual combination of jokes and post apocalyptic scenarios this latest instalment hits all the right feels. And it’s nice to get a little more history on some other well known characters. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

I enjoyed the ending of the series, I am happy it leaves an opening for many of our favorite characters to come back in other books. I feel bad for Justin , losing his daughter, I was hoping she would become a savoir in another way. Very happy that Tommy remained on Mike's side in the end. he is a favorite of mine and I prefer him not evil lol . well done Mark Tufo, I am looking forward to everything that comes next, thank you.
