Description

Performance was great but story was Meh - DNF

I really wanted to like this story and tried to give it a chance - I even read/listened until chapter 18 but unfortunately, I didn't find the story or characters likeable.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Some reasons why this story wasn't for me:
1) while being sex-positive is good; given the story arc, I don't think it works with this story line where the heroine is obviously seeker a closer connection but is confusing sexual intimacy with emotional intimacy - I am not sure it sends the right message to the target audience;
2) while IRL, cheating does happen & we should not judge because at times, you can't help who you love and real life is messy but I just once again think there are too many raw elements to this YA romance - it felt icky and I couldn't really get into the romance when it's built on the foundation of lies/half truths

I think I will return this book
