Sarah arrives back in Lancaster County after a hectic year in New York for her Rumspringa, finding it hard to get used to Amish life. Doubting that the Amish way of life is her path to follow in life, she unexpectedly meets Luke.
Luke is an English resident doctor at a small hospital where he struggles with doubt and loneliness. When he unexpectedly meets Sarah, he feels drawn to her. But Sarah's parents forbid her to court a man who is not Amish.
