À propos de cet audio
In "Amy," Tim Bartko, a restless spirit, embarks on a cross-country journey from Seattle to Chicago to retrieve his belongings from a storage unit there.
He also plans to confront shadows of his past.
What begins as a practical road trip to haul his old life west becomes a deep exploration of self, family, and connection.
During his trip, Tim's mind drifts to past relationships and the strained dynamic with his father, Jack.
Jack, a "man's man" holds rigid views on masculinity which have alienated Tim. Their fraught history, marked by Jack's judgment and Tim's decision to break free from his father's archetype, is a constant undercurrent.
A stop in Cheyenne, Wyoming, leads Tim to a "gentleman's club" called "The Fool's Lair," deep in the Wyoming prairie outside of town. The owner of the seedy motel Tim stays at recommends Tim check it out. Tim disdains such establishments, but loneliness and a "why the fuck not?" attitude pull him inside.
There, he encounters Miley, an auburn-haired dancer. She challenges his notions about strippers and sparks a connection that goes beyond the transactional. Their late-night conversation reveals Miley's real name, Amy.
It also reveals her aspirations beyond the club. This leads to an encounter neither expected.
"Amy" is a poignant and raw narrative about confronting personal demons, the complexities of family relationships, and the search for genuine connection in unexpected places. It is a story of vulnerability, self-discovery, and the lingering echoes of a past that shapes the present, all set against the backdrop of an American road trip.
