À propos de cet audio

Amygdala is a story of animals, born to a world of swirling, fractal chaos, who learned the art of civilization. Their government was forged in fire, ruled only by the objective truth of all things, with no room for incompetence, mercy, or even morality. Their city, 'The Underbirth', holds within it the greatest collection of animal minds, born of mechanical systems designed to test everything: natural, cultural, industrial selection. Their art is beguiling, their science boundless, their bodies strong and lean and perfect.

And yet, amidst the beauty of a culture ruled by absolute competence, some begin to ask: what is the cost of civilization? When do animals stop being animals? Is there another way?

This story is seriously odd, and I dont mean that in a bad way! I'd say it's not a story for most people, but if you can wrap your mind around talking monsterous creatures, that resemble humanity in mind alone, you'll have a great time learning about the world the Author has made here.

The voice acting is UNBELIEVABLY top notch, the music too! I didn't realize how great it was when i got it, I listen to it still! Been through the story 3 times now and still pick-up on things I didn't the previous read, the connecting plots are everywhere.

I cant really give a synopsis, but this story has really presented me with alot of internal reflection about the real world, there is ALOT of dialog about society, and why and how it's (in universe) gotten to where it is, and if thats good or bad.

Everything and everyone is trying to survive, and thoes that do; can't figure out what to do with themselves.

Crazy read, can't recommend it enough.

A story of a world completely alien, the characters too, but the humanity; unchanged.

I read the first edition of Amygdala a while back and I can say this audiobook is ASTOUNDING! The narration amazing, the voices for that characters spectacular and something i haven’t heard a lot of, and the sound effects and music is all amazing, perfectly setting every scene from Polly’s Tab to the Yolshen Marches. Overall I’d say this audiobook is perfect. Can’t wait for the second book and all those to come from this author.

Amazing Story

I find Sam purpusfully made it a bit confusing due to the alien nature of the Kivouack. A great story falowing many different perspectives on the Kivva political and moral structures. Really makes me want the next books to be published soon to continue this grand tale. Does Falicity being 'prey' change the more preditory Kivva perspective on life? Lots of open questions at the end leaving us wanting more.

Amazing, and full of passion
