This is not as dark as the reviews claim. It one thing to use the word rape and another thing to experience it with the characters. There is a lot of telling and it's boring and extremely longwinded. This could have been so much better, The narration is excellent at 1.5 speed. I wanted to know what happened, so it is definitely intriguing. I doubt that I will continue to book 2. I wanted more erotism it would have made the plot so much more interesting.
