I usually have no patience for action scenes and get really bored but I didn’t in this book, it wasn’t to long and dragged out. Lots of new things happened in this book, new discoveries for both good & evil!

I loved this book, number 6 in the Guild Hunter series. Nalini Singh never disappoints her fans.

Another epic installment for Elena and Raphael as old enemies begin their rise to power, while a mysterious new force descends to change everything the Guild and archangels know.

While Elena and Raphael remain much the same as in other installments, they do go through some challenges as they grow closer and attempt to find ways to open up, especially when it comes to their biological families and pasts. It makes for great reading and passionate romantic scenes.

My favourite moments from the plot, which again became humongous at the end as it did with ARCHANGEL'S STORM, were when Elena and Raphael had to come to grips with their family and the damage done to those relationships. It made for some compelling moments and some true surprises.

The modes of death in this book remain shockingly brutal, and the action scenes at the end pull no punches. It's the essence of urban fantasy and I enjoyed this one, especially with the little twist at the end which I did not expect. I'm excited to see where the rest of the series goes!
