The Avengers journey into deep space, where they unite the intergalactic races against the Builders - deadly aliens who seek to destroy the known galaxy. While the heroes are gone, Thanos sets his sights on Earth, sending the Black Order to launch the assault. It falls to the other heroes of Earth - the Inhumans, the Black Panther, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Doctor Strange, the X-Men, and more - to defend Attilan, Wakanda, Atlantis, and the rest of the planet. To defeat Thanos, the defending forces will need to deploy a new weapon - one that may be as deadly as the invading force.

wow this is a really great book lots of great superhero action really good villain storyline running throughout the book lots of Superheroes I didn't even know were around to tell you the truth I started to listen to this and then I ordered the comic I recommend both

..because this adaptation is impressive. Marvel Superheroes are incredibly fun, but let's face it.. Comic Books are not generally considered on the same level as more "Adult" Fantasy/SciFi fare. Comics are stories following imaginative but necessarily superficial heroes.. intended for kids and the occasional geek - Not So for this book. James A. Moore does a great job adapting a surprisingly mature Jonathan Hickman comic series. Moore has a nice sense of fun, a great feel for realistic dialogue that drives an involved plot forward, and an understanding that he needn't take himself too seriously. He writes a fabulous interpretation.
To be certain, there is a cartoonish element to the story, but the threats against mankind involve near-omnipotent beings ("The Builders") manipulating Evolution, Interplanetary Cultural Development, and Multiple Universes. Philosophical and Existential themes are explored.. in a COMIC BOOK!! A sinuous plotline following Thanos attacking the remainders of Earth's defenders is added to a fragile alliance/intergalactic war chronicle (led by Captain America). The plot is thus complex, thought-provoking, and absorbing.
Unfortunately, the book suffers from too many characters.. there is actually no opportunity for any character development (which is hard to do with two-dimensonal characters like Comic Book Heroes in the first place). Despite notable ingenuity, this book falls just short of "Adult Fiction" status (as might be seen in a library).

The reading by Dion Graham is average at best. His tone, timbre, cadence, and pacing are spot-on, but he has legitimate trouble with voice-acting (his accents are terrible; the voices for different species are occasionally cringeworthy; he attempts laughable voice modulation/static effects; and he is not good at female characters).

Despite a burdensome pantheon and subpar narration, this eye-opening Avengers story is worth 7.5 stars out of 10. While undoubtedly entertaining, 'Infinity' fails to achieve the optimum balance of pathos and action for a designation as "Science Fiction". Still, this is a Credit well-spent for Marvel fans.. or even Fantasy/SciFi fans in general.

[Incidentally, it feels odd to see Ronan the Accuser depicted as a praiseworthy hero]
