This account is of a very brave family's opposition to the terror imposed on the population of Paris and beyond during the height of WWII. They avoided the Nazi influx then began to oppose it within resistance networks. Living just down the street from Gestapo and other enforcement operations was filled with enormous risk. Their devotion to those they shared life in wartime Paris as a revered surgeon, nurse and young student. To say more would reduce the impact their true story accounts. Inspiring!

This book was very disappointing. It’s not at all a spy story, and tells very little about the actual Resistance work this family was involved in.
The author also dwells a lot on the immoral (sexual) aspect of the Germans and there’s a lot of details that didn’t need to be included so much.
I kept hoping the story would improve, but it never did, and now I’ve listened too far to return.
