Description

One touch was all it took to show him they were everything he needed.

Esme lost the one thing that made her time in captivity with the Grutex bearable. Even now, after her escape from the labs and her tormentor, the memory of those days haunt her. Yet from the depths of her darkest dreams, something precious calls out to her, something she thought she would never have. Esme will risk everything, even her own life, to answer the call and find out what fate has in store for her.

Life inside the dome is nothing like Kythea imagined it would be. She finds herself struggling to let go of her past and the duties she was forced to leave behind, but the decision of one small human female entangles their fates and leads them to a male who will change their lives forever. Now, with her first heat fast approaching, Kythea must choose between the family who raised her, and the family the goddess has blessed her with.

They say every person is a villain in at least one person’s story, but with the things Xuvri has done in the past, he’s sure he is the lead in more nightmares than he can count. With his body broken and infection setting in, Xuvri thinks it’s the end, but fate has other plans. He’s unstable, violent, and possessive, but can he ensure the safety of his family while keeping the madness that plagues him at bay?

Can these broken, lost, and scared fated mates make it through the tumultuous storm to the rainbow at the end?

This romance has dark tones that may contain triggers.

Best Book Yet!

At first, I was really disappointed to know that Esme was the human protagonist. In the previous book, she was not only least favourite character, I was genuinely angry with her. I'm a very logic minded person and so having someone who that felt like purposefully denied all logic spewing her misinformation frustrated me to absolutely no end.

Everything here on out is a spoiler. If you want to know if you should read this book, if you liked the previous in the collection, the answer is absolutely!

When I learned that Kai was to be one of Esme's mates, I was also pretty upset. Kai is my absolute favourite character in this entire series, except for possibly Bren and Jun, I'm going to say it's a 3-way tie... pun TOTALLY intended ;P

I really felt that Kai deserved SO much better, but as the story went on, I found myself quite enjoying that Kai had more influence on Esme than the other way around. I was quite glad to see that we would end up with two characters more like Kai, than any like Esme was before the proverbial stick was forcibly removed from her ass.

By the end, I don't know that I'd say I liked Esme, but I can say I no longer dislike her. Although my favourite character of this book was Kai, I found myself absolutely loving Xuvry. (I totally just made up that spelling.) He was hilarious in how alien he was to seemingly EVERYTHING and I loved his attitude. I think he was the best made character despite my preference for others. I also love that many characters get a redemption arc, but not all of them. This aspect definitely makes the entire series much more realistic... or rather as realistic as you can get in a universe with multiple alien species converging.

I went into this book worried, and actually came out with happy feelings and tears of happiness. I absolutely recommend this to everyone whp has gotten this far!
