I know this book is fiction, but having studied about what happened in Romania, I can say that this book nails it. The characters are believable and tragic and heartbreaking and warm.

Powerful book. This is a re-listenable book and I may just have to buy the physical copy for my library.

This novel helped me relive so many memories of my childhood! I was 9 when Ceausescu was captured and killed. This book is very accurate and well written.

This book, with its authenticity of the horrors the Romanian people endured for many years, truly hits home being of Romanian decent, and I am grateful that their stories are being told in hopes that lessons can be learned and these stories serve as yet another reminder that this must not ever happen again

I am a fan of non fiction history, and thought I would give this book a try after a friend recommended it. This was a great story, with an interesting introduction to Romanian history of the late 80s.
