À propos de cet audio
A modern rendering of the fifteenth-century Solomonic grimoire, with introduction, commentary, and expanded appendices by Dennis Logan.
The Greater Key of Solomon remains one of the most influential works of ceremonial magic in the Western tradition. Though attributed to King Solomon, the text reflects centuries of transmission and adaptation. This edition restores the classic 1914 L.W. de Laurence version—derived from S.L. MacGregor Mathers—fully cleansed of advertisements and commercial insertions.
Dennis Logan provides a clear and grounded introduction and commentary, explaining the difference between the Greater and Lesser Keys, the pseudepigraphal nature of Solomonic literature, the manuscript families behind the text, and the long history of caution expressed by figures such as Johann Weyer. Special attention is given to the seals and talismans, including the traditional requirement for secrecy and the dangers of casual public display.
This edition also offers expanded supporting materials for the serious student. The appendices include a ceremonial item checklist, excerpts from the Gallican Psalter, every Psalm referenced in the grimoire reprinted in full, and a detailed discussion of provenance and the chain of transmission across Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and early modern sources.
Restored, contextualized, and complete, this edition is designed for both the modern practitioner and the historical listener—uniting clarity, scholarship, and accessible language. Whether approached as a ritual manual, a cultural artifact, or a study of Western esoteric tradition, it offers a complete and reliable presentation of the Solomonic system as it has endured for centuries.
