À propos de cet audio
This is a heavy conversation, and we go straight into why overdoses have quietly become the number one killer of males ages 18 to 39. It is happening here at home, and we believe the real fight is bigger than any single substance. In this episode, we sit down with Ryan Carr, who shares his story from Cleveland to recovery in South Florida, and what it felt like to live with that emptiness he describes as a spiritual malady, a God size hole he tried to fill with anything but connection.
We talk about how isolation can feel automatic, but how choosing community can be the difference between getting lost and finding a way back. Ryan opens up about caretaking, grief, addiction, and the moment he finally picked up the phone and asked for help. We also get into the idea that there is no such thing as passive sobriety, the disease model of addiction, and why tools like support systems, honesty with compassion, and real human to human connection matter more than quick fixes.
This is part one of Ryan’s story. We share what we have learned about the counterfeit connection culture, why chaos can become its own addiction, and how a foundation built on community, balance, and purpose can change everything.
