Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado met President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday as part of her push for greater influence in the wake of Nicolas Maduro’s ouster at the hands of American troops.
Trump was expecting a “good and positive discussion” with Machado, who “is really a remarkable and brave voice for many of the people of Venezuela,” White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters.
