Description

The New York Times best-selling author and front man and rhythm guitarist of Kiss grants fans an all-access backstage pass to his personal life and shows them how to pursue a rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of their own, offering hard-won advice from a music legend.

In this follow-up to his popular best seller Face the Music, the Starchild takes us behind the scenes, revealing what he’s learned from a lifetime as the driving force of Kiss and how he brings his unique sensibility not only to his music career, but to every area of his life - from business to parenting to health and happiness.

Backstage Pass takes you beyond the makeup as Paul shares fascinating details about his life - his fitness routine, philosophy, business principles, how he maintains his inspiration, passion, and joy after nearly 50 years of mega success, including selling out tours, 100 million albums sold, and an art career that has amassed more than 10 million dollars in sales.

Divulging more true stories of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s relationships, hardships, and pivotal moments, it offers surprising lessons on the discipline and hard work that have made him one of the healthiest and most successful rock ‘n’ roll icons in history.

This is the audiobook for fans who love living large but also want to take control and move ahead in everyday life. Paul shows you how you can rock ‘n’ roll all night and party every day - without missing a beat.

Unlistenable due to narrator

This is book is autobiographical/life lessons/experiences from Paul Stanley, and should be read by Paul Stanley. The way this is read makes it truly painful to listen to. The book and the wisdom within are fantastic, the performance of the reader makes it unlistenable. Booooooo!

He's got it going on!!

Paul Stanley is such a wise soul. He definitely has his head together. He loves his wife and his kids. What a great person he is!!
Even if you aren't a KISS fan, you must listen to this book.
I was disappointed that Paul didn't narrate, but Sean Pratt did a great job,

Without Paul's voice, it's just a self help book.

"Face the Music" was amazing, and I still listen to it. As a work in progress, myself, it is not just hearing the words that inspire me, and motivate, but it is hearing them from the person themselves.

Paul's new book is informative and empowering, but falls flat at times, sounding like a typical self help book. This, I feel, is because of Paul not narrating the book himself. Sean Pratt does a very good job, but its just not the same as "Face the music"

For me, the book really kicks in once he starts referring to his fitness, image, and cooking routines. Paul is an amazing man, and I will listen to this many more times. I just wish he had done the narration himself. Its nice to walk, workout, and even drive while feeling like you have the voice of one of your heroes carrying you through the process.

WTF?

A rockstar talking about how great his life is, and how we should live our lives, and his so-called zen like existence. Droning on and on about it! Even to the point of how he makes meatballs and meatloaf? Really? Is this what people came to read about!?
Please!! this is terrible audio book that I did NOT expect to be about Paul Stanley bragging about himself incessantly. Once one of my teen heroes in the band kiss in the 70s, I think he should seriously consider retiring from the public guy entirely.
Stop beating up the two guys who got you to where you are today. You’ve made it abundantly clear how you feel about Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. One has retired, and one is arguably playing a lot better today than you are today. Yet you are a backhanded comments about them or about is the tackiest thing I have possibly ever heard.
You should be forever and only thanking those 24 had you not found them KISS May very well have never existed, and you and all of your issues and shortcomings would’ve just been that for the rest of your life. Celebrate those that got you there man. You have an opportunity to simply make it right for the rest of your life. Do that and I’ll try to sit through the next book that you write. Oh yeah you couldn’t even be bothered to narrate your own audiobook that’s barely 4 hours.? Wow! I’m truly sorry I wasted a credit on this book.

I didn't Rock & Roll All Night nor Party Every Day

its not what I thought it was going to be about. it's a roadmap to Paul's successful life as an entertainer and family man and should have been left as his gift to his children, not released to Kiss fans. I love Paul the Rock God, not the coffeehouse philosopher.

Save your money

No backstage, no pass.

This book has nothing to do with a behind the scenes look at anything.

Misleading title, over blown self-help book .

I Wish The Author Read The Audiobook

Pretty good. I guess I have a problem with it cuz Paul says "if you're gonna do anything, do it 100%". I believe, if you're gonna sell an audiobook, you shouldn't have someone else read it.

A surprise

I love KISS. So naturally I'll support what they do. Not fanatically, but I'm a supporter. I read Paul's first book, and it was good. So when I heard this one was coming, and that it was going to be kind of philosophical and self help-ish, I of course was skeptical. Guess what? He pulled it off. There's an insight in this book that I am surprised exists in this guy. The self help part, for people looking for it, could be helpful. The part about remaining positive is the part that I think most people will be taken with. A good listen, do yourself a favor and buy it. You got nothin' to lose. (Kiss fans will understand that reference)

Not a rockumentary.

I really enjoyed this book. Any Kiss references are relevant to the subject at hand. There isn’t unnecessary bashing as some people who probably didn’t read it claim. There are personal life philosophies and self exploration mentioned throughout that I find are useful. No one has to agree with anyone 100% for any reason. So take this as information and maybe you will find some or all of it useful.
