À propos de cet audio

When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm.

His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real.

Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Destiny is calling. His grandfather's legacy awaits.

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime with USA Today best-selling author J.N. Chaney and Terry Maggert in this galactic quest for glory.

This book is not what I expected. From the description I figured it would be about exploration and discovery - the first human to leave the solar system. That's not at all what it is. Instead, this is a book about space police called peacemakers - essentially, capitalist Jedi bounty hunters who travel around space hunting criminals for money in order to level up their magic swords. The entire plot is about that - our main character joins their ranks almost in chapter one. And he's not even the first human to do so - the book makes it clear that there are thousands of humans in space alongside the many sentient races of the galaxy. It takes away fun the feeling that the main character is special. But that fits - it's hard to divorce the narrator from the famous "Confessions of a D-list Supervillain", especially since the books fell similar in time - both about a mostly good but morally flexible guy who happens to know a lot about technology chasing people down for a payday. There's humour and camaraderie, but no romance. It's a good book, it's just not at all what I expected.

Good book, misleading description

Best one liner in a space adventure novel - The Sky was Full of Ships -
The writing reminds me of EE Doc Smith with a lack of filler paragraphs and full of nonstop thrills

I have been listening to a lot of fantasy and litprg and I will say this is the perfect series to get a break from those other genres you know to cleanse the pallet so to speak. This series is remarkable and I would say it is equally as good as the Galaxy's Edge Series. A very well done MC and the side characters are great, the AI characters are a nice comedic break as well, not as good as skippy and no one every is as good as skippy....ever

A nice change
