À propos de cet audio

After sending his army to besiege another king's capital, King David forces himself on Bathsheba, a loyal soldier's wife. When her resulting pregnancy forces the king to murder her husband and add her to his harem, Bathsheba struggles to protect her son while dealing with the effects of a dark prophecy and deadly curse on the king's household.

Combining historical facts with detailed fiction, Angela Hunt paints a realistic portrait of the beautiful woman who struggled to survive the dire results of divine judgment on a king with a divided heart.

A beautifully written story not only of Bathsheba but of King David and his people and Adonai's will being carried out and prophecies fulfilled. Strong message of how God can turn what Satan means for evil into God's will and glory fulfilled. A redemptive story of a beloved but flawed King and a broken beauty and their growing love and friendship through much sorrow and joy until the end. I love these stories that are true to Scripture yet fill in the blanks creatively, not to change truth but personalizes the characters, God's role and sovereignty and reconnects us personally with the people and events in the Bible. Jesus Christ eventually came from the line of David. All the stories, characters and prophecies from the Old Testament lead to Jesus. We can relate and learn from the mistakes and lessons of the history of God's people. To see ourselves and relate to the stories and characters to help us be more understanding and gracious and to wake us up, bring us to repentance and to life transformation. To see God's will done in the past gives hope that His will is done in present and future. I am growing to understand more and long to meet the saints of Old, the present ones and future ones too. Longing for eternity with God and having that assurance that life doesn't end when we leave this earth. Selah. Amen.

Out of the ashes a true love formed over time

I was listening while house-cleaning with the audiobook on a speaker. In the middle of the narrator speaking, there is a woman’s voice that says “go ahead” very clearly… it made me jump out of my skin… and begin to search my house (I was home alone and the voice sounded next to me!) after a few minutes with heart pounding I began to think maybe it was in the audiobook… and so backed it up a few minutes to listen… and thankfully yes!!! But terrifying for some reason!!

In chapter 18 at spot 7:23

I really enjoyed hearing about the lives of these biblical characters. The author makes it so easy to imagine how life was way back then. I would highly recommend.

Loved it!
