Tessa is hiding in Sutter Lake after something traumatic happened in her past. Liam is also hiding in Sutter Lake, but because of a completely different reason. From the first time he see’s Tessa, he knows something bad happened to her and instantly wants to get to know her better. Tessa’s walls are incredibly high and Liam works very hard to get her to trust him. I really liked their relationship, I thought it was super sweet. The suspense was also really good, as all Catherine Cowles’ books are.

You knew poor Tessa was haunted and hiding, but how Liam and her interact and build their relationship...swoon! They are such a fantastic couple!!!

I would definitely recommend this book. It has it all. Love, lust, suspense, a plot.

Overall, a good story. I think wouldn’t have laughed at the more serious moments had the narrators been more believable. The male narrator had the females sound like he was doing an imitation reciting an event to someone, and the males sounded as if they needed to clear their throats.

The female narrator was a lot better. However, I wish she didn’t make Tessa sound like she was broadcasting news on every sentence. As if she were beginning a new conversation/paragraph each time, rather than have nuance and progressive flow.

Aaron Shedlock is pretty darn awesome, too. There are some characters he's a better fit for than others (as is the case for all voice actors) but I love his husky tones and really like his female voices. I've heard some painfully bad narration of the opposite sex. Particularly by male narrators. Not the case here, though.

And Maxine Mitchell is by far one of my all time favorite narrators especially when it come to male characters. It's like sweet chocolate that feels so right. Especially with certain characters and books - this one included. She puts feeling and emphasis on her words just the right way.

Nice story. Intense at parts. Not the type of book I reread but no complaints.
