À propos de cet audio
As soon as we open the door to our beautiful new home, I sense their presence . . . the couple who lived here before us.
They’ve left things behind, as if on purpose, for us to find. First, there is the mysterious diary that ends too abruptly, followed by pictures of a couple in their thirties, just like us. Tired-looking parents with two small children. Who are they?

The writing is capable.. but I found that I really had to concentrate just to keep the characters, relationships, and couplings straight. Failing to fixate on what was happening in any segment of the book left me completely lost. I had to restart chapters time after time simply to reorient myself.
As to presentation: the tandem narrators Sarah Kants & Gabrielle Nellis-Pain are professional but unspectacular. That's not to say that the performance is inferior, mind you.. just that I was left with the impression that Audible Studios Inc. could have gotten similar results from any SAG-AFTRA reader in their stable.
Altogether, 'Before Us' merits 6.5 stars out of 10. It was a reasonable distraction for free.. but if it leaves the 'Plus' menu, save your Credit for something less convoluted.
Tangled Book

This audiobook’s chapters constantly going from the previous homeowner to the new homeowner turned out to be quite fun, especially when they paralleled each other and even intertwined, at times. The audio novel had us moving seamlessly between then and now, without causing any timeline confusion in the process.
Both narrators proved to be a masterclass in excellence; their emotive, versatile voices made this audiobook as immersive as can be. I genuinely hope Sarah Kants and Gabrielle Nellis-Pain get their flowers for their respective performances, if they haven’t already.
The story itself contained many twists and turns, enough so to have me gasp out loud in my car at times (even if I managed to guess some!). I saw Tony’s true identity coming early on, yet found that it didn’t take away from my interest in everything else going on. If anything, it just had me more excited for the reveal to confirm my ever-growing suspicions.
While the ending felt a little rushed and did not end on a positive note, it was also fitting given the dramatic adventure we’d been taken on and I’m not angry with it.
Overall, I would recommend this to a friend who enjoys a good thriller!
A thrilling ride, from start to finish!
