A laugh-out-loud, slice-of-life martial-arts fantasy about . . . farming????

It's hard and stressful at times, but I've got an entire family for support. And yes, some of its members have feathers or fur. (Big D is very good at lullabies.)

Anyway, spring awaits, and I find myself optimistic. I wish for a long, peaceful year for everyone. Even Gramps, the cultivator who took Rou in after his parents died. He cared enough to write me a letter so I hope my return message finds him well.

Though I'm probably never going to see him again. After all, Rou was just a random kid he picked up on a whim. He can't be that interested in me . . . Right?

Ok, so the words may sound sour but I did enjoy this book.
That said, it moves the story of the world almost nowhere. It really is just telling us what might come later for the many characters while at the same time stapling down what book four at set as future threads.
Do you want to have a teaser of that sea voyage set up? Sure. Here are the people who are going on it.
What’s up with the man who left our hero in the sect before book one starts? He hangs around for a while.

Instead of leaving the future as hints and possibilities we instead have a lot of it smoothed out.

I don’t mind it, but you don’t Need this either. Stopping at book four would be fine.

Another solid solid volume in the series, both in tone and detail. the Narrator is still a great fit. No spoilers intended, but the epilogues in this one are the best so far.

My only complaint is its to short but I get why it ends where it does. I wish every book was 18 hours as I love the world building and I look forward to book 6 in a year hopefully if things continue as they were.
Great addition and Travis does great work as always too.
