I really wanted to love it but…

Potential Spoilers!! I was excited to read this memoir. As an avid listener of this memoir there were just some things I couldn’t get past. The narration is okay but when she tries to do the voice of God it is terrible. The storyline is okay…but she almost completely skips over her own bout with cancer and her husband’s death from cancer. These are ideas that make up an entire book but are so quickly glossed over - I am left wondering did she even love her husband? Was their marriage in deep trouble and she just didn’t want to let it be known? I know the book is geared toward other parents who are grieving the loss of a child and I am not someone who has faced this horrific possibility. However, I still wanted to read and learn from her experience - to grow in my own faith. Toward the end she departs from a storyline to more of an “advice giving” self help book. The story overall is genuine and heartfelt but I’m going to put the problems on the editor…these are all things I think a good editor would have caught and re-directed.
