À propos de cet audio

Kinsley never thought she would go home. She left Coventry and didn't look back. But after a divorce, she packed up her stuff and drove toward the only place that she knew would accept her.

Life hadn't been easy for Kinsley since she left town. She'd spent her entire adult life rebelling against what she was, and that meant hiding her true self from the world. Kinsley left Coventry on a mission to be ordinary. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

Coventry isn't your typical town. It's home to the most powerful family of witches in the world. Two ancient witch families united when her parents married, and she was supposed to be their leader.

Nobody ever asked Kinsley if that's what she wanted. Funny how the universe worked because there she was rolling into Coventry in her broken-down car.

The welcome party was short-lived, because a dead guy turned up.

The town's sheriff starts to give Kinsley the side-eye. But, a lot of people wanted the victim dead. There's a murderer on the loose, and Kinsley's got to learn to harness her powers.

And, then there's Meri, the black cat familiar. Someone decides to grant him one wish for his service, and it doesn't go as planned.

I gave this book 3 stars. The premise had potential, but the execution fell flat for me. The story lacked depth, and while the characters were fine, they felt underdeveloped and somewhat one-dimensional. At times, the writing came across as trite and overly simplistic — almost as though it were intended for a much younger audience.

I also struggled with the narration. The delivery lacked appropriate intonation and emotional variation, which made the performance feel unnatural and nearly monotone. It was difficult to stay fully engaged as a result.

Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression.

An Okay Story That Lacked Depth

this series looked like it was going to be a great one but I prefer my heroines to be strong and smart. this quickly became a love triangle that I see/read only gets worse as the series continues. the MFC is supposed to be the strongest witch but yet lets the vampire control her and she can't decide on which male she wants, it is starting to become a drama, more geared for teens. lack of magic, pathetic MFC, who should know better after coming through a nasty divorce, acting like a teenager, not a 30 year old. was hoping for more magic and fun with coven and family. the cat is the best part.
