À propos de cet audio
“I told myself I would never return to this godforsaken city, to a family who couldn’t care less about me, but here I am.”
Sloan tried to escape her family and their business as the nefarious mafia witches of Evrose Bay, and after five years of thinking she got away, one text changed everything—her twin brother found trouble. To make matters worse, it's with the most bloodthirsty vampires in the city. The Malbec coven will stop at nothing until a debt is paid.
Sloan quickly finds herself in a situation from her twin's bad deeds. She was ready to pay the price, but when she realizes who is now in charge, her fears become something more. It's not money they want—it’s her.
But it seems more is at work in the cruel city, where loyalty knows no difference in blood. Betrayals, blood magic, and plans for a new rule set chaos to the streets, and Sloan is tossed into the thick of it.
On the brink of war, she has to decide: run, fight, or die…
©2024 Blake Gallows (P)2025 Blake GallowsSloan, a badass witch is destined to take over from her father, the head of their Coven while Vance the vampire is set to takeover from his father. Oh and their covens HATE each other. We learn about an unsuspecting friendship turned crush turned heartbreak to now enemies. Vance is definitely toxic in how he expresses his emotions but we also love a protective banter filled man, even if it comes across poorly.
Definitely open door spice, check triggers if you're squeamish about blood and violence, she also makes references to the songs on the playlist during the book so if that's not for you, maybe not your jam.
My negative for the performance was the audio seemed to not be equalized between the male and female narrator so when it would switch I would have to turn up for the guy then blast my ears out when she spoke. This was only a problem for me when I was driving, my headphones seemed less noticeable. Christian's voice is just so dang low. Their actual voices were lovely and really embodied their banter and characters.
