When the dreams came, Kara Manning thought they were just nightmares of blood, murder, and destruction. A product of too much pizza and action movies on her new TV. She never imagined that they were far more. She thought they were subconscious fears transformed into night visions of red skies and her beloved ruined city of Richmond, Virginia.
She had no idea that the vampires of her horror dreams were real or that she was a Valkyrie, whatever the hell that was. When she began subtly changing her dreams with minor changes in her waking life, she reluctantly began to believe she was a prophet of the pending apocalypse. She was a receptionist, a nobody trying to get by. Her dreams of red skies had turned to nightmares, and then to prophecy. Dying night after night in her visions was easy. Saving the world… not so much.
