For decades, wrestling was shrouded in secrecy. It had larger-than-life personalities, bone-crunching physicality and jaw-dropping theatrics, but backstage, it was an industry devoid of outsiders. Then in 1999, after working together on a special for MTV, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turned to 26-year-old television writer Brian Gewirtz and asked, “You ever consider writing for WWE?” That question, and its answer, would have a profound effect on both of their lives for years to come. There's Just One Problem is a story about perseverance, tenacity, and steel chairs.

Description
The captivating story of how The Sheik captured the imagination of a generation, conquered the wrestling business, and lost it all in a blaze of flame and glory
He was the most vicious, bloodthirsty, reviled villain in the history of the ring. During the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, he drew record crowds everywhere he went and left a trail of burned and bloody opponents in his wake. He was The Sheik: the mysterious and terrifying madman from Syria whose wanton destruction and mayhem are the stuff of wrestling legend. But what those legions of fans screaming for his head never knew was that The Sheik was really Eddie Farhat.
From Lansing, Michigan, and the son of Arab immigrants, Farhat served his country proudly in World War II and was fulfilling the American dream through hard work and tireless dedication to his craft. And when he wasn't screaming unintelligibly and attacking his enemies with sharp objects, he was busy being the owner and operator of World Wide Sports, one of the most successful wrestling companies in North America.
This is Blood and Fire: The Unbelievable Real-Life Story of Wrestling's Original Sheik.

One of the best bios on old school wrestling
One of the best written biographies makes for a compelling listen as Brian R. Solomon, the author of the book, lays it out in a matter of fact manner going deeply into the history of one of the most enigmatic men in the history of the sport and his nearly fifty five year reign.

Great Memories
Having grown up in Windsor and first seeing Abdullah and the Sheik vs The Funks being shown on Big Time Wrestling on Channel 62 (if I remember correctly) around 1977 I was completely hooked on wrestling. This book brought back great memories of my Dad and myself heading over to Cobo to see countless battles with The Sheik and Bobo, and even Ox Baker. My last time seeing him wrestle was at Windsor Arena in the mid 80’s I believe.
What a well written and very detailed job Brian has done with this book!
Thank you for the memories!

Must read for any old school wrestling fan.
Growing up in 70’s Southern Ontario I watched Sheik on TV & saw him at arenas numerous times, even ringside. Scary stuff! I have old pics & Polaroids from the shows. And the memories that made me a life-long wrestling fan.
As the book opens the author seemingly narrates the entrance and pre-match ritual, then the formula of a typical Sheik match. It had me smiling & nodding and settled me quickly in for a really fun ride. I was always looking for the next time I could listen. Excellent job by the Solomon, thanks for all your work - my highest recommendation. Cheers!
