À propos de cet audio

June, 1852. A preacher's daughter with a secret. An outlaw running from the gallows. A love story spanning oceans and deserts and years.

Abby Proctor has made her choice—she's racing back to Wry to save Joey "JT London", the outlaw she's fallen in love with. But time is running out—the ghosts of Abby's past are giving chase, they're not going to let her go without a fight, and Joey is a wanted woman with a target on her back.

Then, Joey disappears.

But Abby is determined to find her, and along the way, she might even find herself.

The epic finale and sequel to Bloom Town: Genesis.

The wait's over!!

Once again, as expected, Quinn Riley delivers the second half of Ally North's masterpiece "Bloom Town" with commanding force!

If you read the book, you'd know that North doesn't skim on the level of drama, suspense, thrills and even humour, as she weaves her masterwork to its gloriously rapturous end. Add Riley's powerful embodiment of the returning MCs and an unforgettable supporting cast, you've got a true jewel in a crown, a magnum opus of a classic love story for the ages.

Every story, character development and growth is further personified by Riley's utter conviction in bringing the story along with its inhabitants to real life and then some. You feel a myriad of emotions especially the unsurmountable grief and loss, the unforgiving guilt, the fractured perception about love, joy, forgiveness, that Joey suffers from. So utterly raw and authentic is Riley's portrayal of Joey's despair, the emotional effect is no less visceral than as if you were witnessing someone you know personally in real life going through that. Cuts ya like a knife. Heartbreakingly bittersweet when you experience Joey's journey until the end when she finally, finally lets go... North's words in that moment hit me like a ton of bricks (triggering my own grief and loss) and with Riley's emotionally affecting vocals only cut deeper into the core with reverberating effect.

And let's not forget about the intensely emotional scene when Abby pleads for Joey to stay back...the intensity of her cries for Joey to listen, a primal scream that Riley projected into Abby's current state of mind with devastating effect, literally broke my heart into a million pieces. And then, Jack. Wow, that scene. The unforgettable scene with Jack's frantic cries of plea, the panic, the trembling, portrayed with gut-wrenching fervour by Riley's transcending vocals. If you read the book, you know which scenes I mean. [Chapter 8 and Chapter 22]

Another memorable scene that Riley knocks it out of the park with all the feels that her vocal wizardry evokes is the much-anticipated mano-0-mano between Abby and Joey, a powerful exchange that changes everything going forward where their relationship is concerned. OMG, Riley's embodiment of sheer anguish and determination, the fury that hides the deep yearning in both fabulous characters, really elevated that scene, just like the other notable scenes, into a whole new level of impactful authenticity!

And, if you know the book, then you'll know that this scene derives from one of the most hilarious incidents in fiction. Yes, it's THE Chicken (the incomparable Mrs. B!) scene! For North to write a bloody hilarious scene one minute and then turns around and produces a powerfully poignant one in the next is something to behold. And Riley just takes them by the horns and makes them her own!

If you've read Ally North's masterpiece, you know that she's written an exquisitely poetic narrative that produces lyrical words that flow like a music piece. Now, imagine them being brought to life with just a voice. But a voice that transforms into something so visceral, so visual, that it evokes deep-seated, lasting emotional effects making Bloom Town a timeless classic for the ages.

So, what are you waiting for? LISTEN to Quinn Riley bring Abby and Joey's unforgettable life and love story to real life written by the absolutely brilliant Ally North!

p.s. You know, in Book 1, for me, Olive stole the "show." In Book 2, for me, it's definitely Mrs. Beelzebub (Mrs. B) and Frex! What a wonderful addition to the found family!!

A Masterpiece Through & Through In Word and Audio!

I have never wrote a review on any of the many books I have listened to. I downloaded the 2nd book half way through the 1st one. Ally North is an amazing author I was hooked from the beginning to the end and the sex scenes are hot. Quinn Riley’s narration was over the top. I didn’t want it to end thank you for the escape I look forward to more from both of you. ✌🏼

Quinn Rilley ‘s narrating her voice is amazing.
