À propos de cet audio

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Devney Perry comes a gripping romance set in 1983 where a woman’s search for the truth about her father’s death entangles her with the small-town sheriff and a legend of lost Montana gold.

Living in Dalton, Montana, was not what I had planned for this winter. But after my father’s sudden death, I uprooted my life to move into his tiny lakeside cabin and settle his estate. My friends tell me to sell his place and move on. But this winter is my chance to say goodbye. To remember a man who’d loved tales of Montana lore.

Taking a temporary teaching job seemed like the perfect way to keep myself busy on lonely days. Cleaning out the cabin should have been simple. Except the more I learn about my father’s life, the more questions I have about his death.

The last thing I need is a crush on Sheriff Cosi Raynes. Not only is his son my student, but his life is rooted in Montana, while mine is headed…anywhere else.

Yet as I uncover a trail of strange clues Dad left behind about a lost legend of Montana gold, staying away from Cosi is not an option. Neither is denying the attraction between us. And my winter of healing becomes a race for answers.

I came to Montana to bury the past. Now I’m falling for the man who might just be my future. And either I’ll solve this mystery, or the person in Dalton determined to hide the truth will make sure I die trying.

Bluebird Gold is definitely one of my favourite listens of 2025. Being an 80’s child myself, this brought back some great memories and nostalgia. Cosi and Ilsa’s story was one of my favourite tropes and the suspense weaved into their story was perfect. This book has left me with a listening hangover. Another masterpiece by Devney Perry! ❤️

Such a feel good listen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 rounded down - A great first read to kick off the year! Between the cozy, vintage vibes, the element of mystery, and the incredible duet narration, this book had me in a chokehold and I didn’t want to press pause! I’m not one to rate on “vibes,” but the vibes definitely played a role in my love of this book.

Our MMC Cosi (“KAH-si” - even his name is sexy somehow) has a mustache, drives a Bronco, is a single dad, and is voiced by Connor Crais. Oh, and he calls her “baby.” I’m obsessed with Sheriff Cosi Raynes.

While I loved this book, I felt like there were various elements of the story that were under explored:
- I feel like the backstory of Cosi becoming a teenage single father is only sort of briefly addressed and Spencer’s absentee mother Gwen kind of hovers in the periphery. I feel like there could have been at least one more important conversation where she was concerned
- I definitely wasn’t expecting the culprit behind the cabin fire/trashing to be who it was and I’m also not sure I’m satisfied with this conclusion. It was obvious to the reader that the attacks on Ilsa’s property were driven by whatever secrets her dad was hiding, but I felt like the way things were wrapped up were a bit rushed and random. I had also expected an actual treasure hunt to be part of the story.

An amazing duet performance from Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor - I’d expect nothing less.
