It’s been six years since Glen Masters lost his wife, Claire, in a tragic accident. In hopes of reconnecting with his grieving teenage daughter, he decides to take them on a roadtrip through the Appalachians, where he has fond memories of the past. But soon into their travel, what was supposed to be a quick pit stop quickly transforms into a nightmare, when an armed man and a companion stumble into the diner, ranting about a mysterious, and deadly “living water” that attacked several people up the road. The story the men spin, of a life-sucking, murderous entity, seems to the diners to be the rantings of a drunken lunatic, but soon they find themselves hostages to both the gunman and the inexplicably terrifying body of water. Because there's something wrong with this water, and it has no mercy.
Panic grows as the diners play witness to a nature-defying entity that seeks only to swallow every living thing in its path. With help nowhere in sight, the group of strangers must work together to devise an escape with increasing threats coming from inside and out. Glen, Lauren and the others, must face down their worst fears to reconcile their past or risk losing everything
