À propos de cet audio

In the audio book Brahmacharya: Celibacy Attained With Understanding, Gnani Purush (embodiment of Self knowledge) Dada Bhagwan offers unique insight into the definition of celibacy and the benefits of brahmacharya. He clarifies common misunderstandings about celibacy, answering questions such as: “How do you define celibacy?”, “What are the spiritual reasons for abstinence from sex, and what are the benefits of abstinence?”, “Does spiritual power increase from brahmacharya, and how is celibacy related to spirituality and practice?”, “Must one take a vow of celibacy to practice brahmacharya?” This audio book offers a clear road map to celibacy meaning and celibacy benefits, and is an invaluable resource for those wanting to learn how to become more spiritual through the practice of brahmacharya.

This teaching can be valuable in its insight that much of what people call love is actually attachment—rooted in expectation, dependency, and emotional need—but it should be approached with caution because its solution risks drifting into emotional detachment that limits relational depth and responsibility.

In the teaching of Dada Bhagwan, the goal is to eliminate suffering by removing attachment and expectation, even in close relationships like marriage and family. While this can reduce emotional reactivity and conflict, it can also weaken the lived experience of love by discouraging vulnerability, emotional investment, and relational commitment.

This stands in contrast to the teaching of Jesus Christ, who called for love that is self-giving, sacrificial, and deeply relational—one that does not avoid suffering but willingly bears it for the sake of others.

The key difference is that one path seeks peace through detachment, while the other transforms love through engagement, sacrifice, and enduring commitment.
